I love working with my community - it’s a privilege and honour to be surrounded by so many talented folks who inspire me with their natural way of being in the world. I enjoy the ever expanding sense of curiosity and the community network that builds gently upon itself. A small history developed and nourished.

Precious is well…precious! She has a beautiful, gentle way of being in the world - ever mindful of her surroundings, the life forms that exist on all levels and her awareness of them on an energetic level. The way she feels is the way she captures her images - thoughtfully, respectfully and mindfully observing the story surrounding what she has in the frame.

The sensitivity she brings to the process is very special as well - the way she translates the dynamic between colours and textures and includes so much natural presence is deeply felt not just seen. These are huge values for MG - nature is imbued in everything we do. Nature is our primary influence. Not just in the literal sense, but also in what feels natural. That indescribable feeling of knowing and trusting there is a bigger process than the material itself - that there is a multitude of elements that need to come together for something to feel right, to feel Natural.

Natural as a Way of Being.

This photoshoot came about via a lovely visit - a gentle little catching up - and before we knew it we were enthralled in a lovely collaborative creative process and a photoshoot was in the works. We were giddy with delight as it felt so natural - it unfolded right before our eyes.

We don’t work with Influencers - we’ve never made the leap. It feels more natural for me to collaborate with folks in the community where we are both supporting each other and really respect and know each others work, where there is a foundation of relationship first. I really love and appreciate the process of developing a relationship with someone before starting a project as personal as photography - the trust, the creative process + shared values. Reciprocity.

It’s not simply about the collection of images - there is a deeper language we are exploring together about how we move through the world in general. That touch point is where we launch from - that shared place of understanding and a particular poetic way of looking at the world in general.

It’s not just about the clothes.

It has never really been exclusively about the clothes. The clothes are a reflection of something deeper and more ephemeral, more intangibly valued - it’s about how one chooses to move through the world, how one sees themselves in the world and how one wants the world to be.

By choosing to work with certain individuals and them choosing to work with us, we collectively decide how the shoot will look and feel - it is a shared project - both parties contributing to the process and experience. It is primarily about 2 artists coming together (and the model(s) too!) and secondarily about the commerce component. A little unorthodox and perhaps not business savvy - but it feels the most natural. And the most fun.

This is our first photo project with Precious and we look forward to more.
