Destanne is a self taught seamstress, designer & true textile nerd. She is deeply committed to community, the natural world & integrity in everyday actioning. Born from the desire to build her own no-fuss wardrobe came another artistic expression & opportunity to clothe & care for others - Moss Grey. Forever exploring & curious Destanne explores a multiplicity of outlets for beauty, creativity, self-employment, empowerment and music.

ANy chance she gets she is out paddling in her canoe, gardening, picnicking or wandering in the wilds looking for edible plants + listening to the bird + trees sing.

Moss Grey emerged from the desire to dress with elegant pragmatism, understated beauty & practical longevity. Here, we are passionate about natural textiles, sustainable & antiquated technologies, the wisdom of nature & conscientious living. These elements make for a beautiful & purposeful wardrobe with a compassionate & mindful approach to making garments. The love of natural fibres is what inspires the aesthetic of the work but slow fashion gives it meaning. How we adorn ourselves is a personal & significant signal.

All pieces are designed in our atelier & handmade by a small team on Vancouver Island by a sweet & special team of home studio seamstresses. We are a family business; a slow fashion company that loves to collaborate with other artists and like minded individuals who heart loves the land.
