The Madrone Rain Coat is “nerdy tech wear” for those of us who wish to be protected from the elements of wind and rain and wish to maintain the continuity of our already established aesthetic which is a bit antiquated, understated and stylish.

This garment is gentle on the earth and is an eco-alternative to Gortex.

The waxed cotton we are using is a beautiful fabric produced from a well-establish and respected Scottish Textile House that has been producing tech gear since the mid 1800’s - many moons before ‘tech gear’ was a thing.
As this is waxed cotton - not oil cloth - the fabric is matte + dry to the touch and does not leave a residue - it can be worn without concern against your clothing.
It looks less like a ‘rain coat’ and more like that of a classic mid-century everyday coat.
The Madrone Rain Coat serves as a multi-season coat - with room inside to allow for layering depending on the season and weather.

The design is non-gender which explains why the sleeves are long - they can be rolled to suit you.

The pockets are rather large - allowing for a iPad, sketch book, kitten or the contents of your purse or backpack depending on your day.

cleaning instructions: via the manufacturer

washing machines can be used, but it will create drum and scuff marks.
hang dry. the fabric can be lightly ironed. do not steam.
place a cotton cloth on top of fabric before ironing.
