Hello Loves -

There has been much on the go here at MG.
We have been working on tightening up our designs (some of them are so old now, they need a refresher), adding more sizes (steady as she goes), adding more designs (you don’t know the half of it!) and general house keeping (the dry but important stuff).

We have also, much to our chagrin, had to review our prices in relation to the steadily increasing price of fabric, notions, packaging, shipping etc, as well as the added cost of expanding our sizes and bringing in more folks into the team to make that feasible.

Big shifts. Growing. Learning. Expanding.

Last year was an absolute blur. It was a matter of staying afloat and steadying on. There wasn’t time to look at the small details - until now.

This year we are more attentive and committed to doing our job better (thank you Covid for all your lessons!), and to move toward sustainability as a business.

We would like to continue following this amazing path.

I haven’t really changed the pricing formula since I started when it was just myself and then one other person until last year.
Now, nearly 6 years later it is time for an intensive internal review.

Something that is incredibly important to me is my Team.
At the end of their day I want the team to feel valuable and respected.
I want to pay them well - and together we are finding that balance between all the elements at play. So far, so good!

I truly love them.

I am often reluctant to raise prices but at the end of the day I am also part of this team.
I also need to feel valuable + respected.
If I can’t make it - the company won’t make it.

The state of the world has made it so that all of us enmeshed in the global commodity chain have had to raise our prices.
We see the costs rising. We feel the costs rising. We feel the brunt of it.

This ripple effect that reminds us that even though we love what we do here at MG we are still providing a product that is not divorced from that truth.

We do not take these steps lightly.
We discuss and feel deep into the reality we face.

However, in order for us to stay afloat we have to make some price adjustments.

I want to express all my gratitude to all of you who have wholeheartedly, as customers and team, supported these shifts. Thank you.

be well,

Destanne
